Dozens of Afghan police killed in Taliban attack
SANAA, March 4 (YPA) – Dozens of Afghan police were killed by a Taliban attack on Wednesday in Uruzgan province, central Afghanistan.
“Dozens of Afghan police were killed and others wounded in an attack in the state’s Trencot region,” Zargai Abadi, a spokesman for the governor of Uruzgan province, was quoted by the Afghan “Talao” channel as saying.
“Eight Taliban fighters were killed and four others were wounded during clashes with the police,” the spokesman added.
In the same context, the French news agency revealed that 20 soldiers and police were killed in Taliban attacks in Afghanistan.
The United States signed an agreement with the Taliban on Saturday, which could pave the way towards a full withdrawal of foreign forces from Afghanistan within 14 months and mark a step towards ending the 18-year war.
