SANAA, March 3 (YPA) – Director of the Presidential Office, Head of the Supreme Council for Management and Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs and International Cooperation, Ahmed Hamed on Tuesday met with the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA)’s Regional Director George Khoury.
The meeting discussed mechanisms of the cooperation between the Council and the OCHA in the implementation of humanitarian projects in Yemen, as well as ways to overcome difficulties in order to guarantee the continuity of humanitarian action.
At the meeting, Hamed appreciated the UN efforts through its organizations and agencies working in the humanitarian field in light of the difficult circumstances in Yemen.
Hamed stressed the importance of working according to clear and transparent mechanisms that guarantee the elimination of corruption and achieve the delivery of aid according to the actual needs of those affected and needy.
He explained that the goal of establishing the Supreme Council for Management and Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs is to coordinate and find solutions and remedies for the obstacles that may face organizations working in the humanitarian field in Yemen.
For his part, Khoury noted to the importance of dialogue to address all the problems that may face the course of humanitarian action, appreciating the positive efforts and endeavors made to find appropriate solutions and remedies for issues related to the humanitarian path in Yemen.
