Prime Minister receives OCHA official

SANAA, March 2 (YPA) – Prime Minister Dr. Abdulaziz Saleh bin Habtoor met on Monday with the Director Middle East and North Africa – United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) George Khoury.

At the meeting, bin Habtour briefed the OCHA’s official on the humanitarian situation fueled by the ongoing war and siege imposed by the Saudi-Emirati aggression coalition and its siege against the Yemeni people for nearly five years.

The officials discussed a role of the UN humanitarian organizations operation in Yemen in providing the humanitarian aid to alleviate the suffering the Yemeni citizens.

The two sides touched upon the results of the recent Brussels Donors Conference and its outputs to back Yemen, as well as the Salvation Government’s role in addressing the difficulties facing the international organizations.

Meanwhile, Khoury affirmed that OCHA would exert efforts to neutralize the humanitarian action and avoid the political effects, noting joint efforts to overcome problems and face challenges to reduce the humanitarian tragedy in Yemen.
