HADRAMOUT, Feb. 20 (YPA) – Unknown militants shot down on Thursday a helicopter in Yemen’s southern province of Hadramout, according to sources.
The sources said that the helicopter belonging to the first military zone loyal to the Saudi-backed Islah party in Shibam district of the governorate.
The helicopter crash came after it was targeted by the UAE-supported Southern Transitional Council (STC)’s militias in the province, the sources confirmed.
Hadramout has seen high tensions and military escalation between the Islah party militants and the STC militias in the province.
