Salvation Gov’t provide fishing equipment for 200 fishermen in Hodeidah

SANAA, Feb. 19 (YPA) – Minister of Fish Wealth in the National Salvation Government Mohammed al-Zubayri on Wednesday said that the ministry has worked to provide fishing equipment for 200 fishermen in Hodeidah, with support from the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO).

“The support for fishermen comes within the framework of addressing the damages suffered by the fishermen as a result of Saudi-led coalition attacks, which caused severe damage to fishing equipment in the western coast,” al-Zubayri told Yemen Press Agency.

The ministry provided the value of 20 traditional fishing boats, as compensation to some of the affected fishermen within the first stage, through the International Committee of the Red Cross, in addition to providing fishing and safety means and equipment through “GHADG” Foundation, the minister added.

Al-Zubayri explained that the ministry was unable to complete the rehabilitation of damaged buildings and fish facilities in Hodeidah due to the continual military escalation of the coalition in the province.
