Number of infections with Corona in China approaches 60,000

BEIJING, Feb. 13 (YPA) – China on Thursday recorded more than 15,000 new cases of infection with coronavirus.

“On February 12, the Health Affairs Committee received information on 15,152 new cases of pneumonia caused by an outbreak of coronavirus in 31 provinces, including 174 new serious cases and 254 deaths, 1171 cases recovered,” said Mei Feng, spokesman for the China Health Affairs Committee, at a press conference today.

He added: “As of midnight on February 12, there were 59,804 confirmed cases in 31 provinces (of which 8,030 were in late health condition), 5,911 people recovered and 1,367 deaths.”

The efforts of the Chinese authorities to control the spread of this deadly virus fade with the increase in the number of victims and the infected.

Director-General of the World Health Organization Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus confirmed this week that the Coruna virus is a “very serious threat” to the world, despite the fact that there are 99 percent of cases in China.
