Health Ministry discusses with ICRC expanding support for health sector

 SANAA, Feb. 8 (YPA) – Minister of Public Health and Population Dr. Taha al-Mutwakkil on Saturday discussed with Head of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) delegation for Yemen, Franz Rauchenstein the possibility of expanding the Committee’s support for the health sector.

In the meeting, The Health Minister praised the ICRC’s efforts and its effective role in supporting the health field, especially in light of the circumstances the country is going through as a result of the US-Saudi aggression and unfair siege, appreciating the Committee’s.

Dr. al-Mutwakkil stressed the need for coordination between the Ministry and the Committee to ensure the achievement of common goals to provide health services to citizens.

The meeting touched on the worsening humanitarian and health conditions resulting from the continued aggression and the accompanying serious threats to the lives of innocent civilians.

For his part, Rauchenstein confirmed the continued support of the ICRC to Yemen and the provision of health services to beneficiaries and the needy, praising the role of the Ministry of Health in overcoming the difficulties facing the delegation.
