Health Minister discusses with IOM cooperation mechanism

SANAA, Feb.8 (YPA) – Minister of Public Health and Population Dr. Taha al-Mutwakkil on Saturday discussed in Sanaa with the International Organization for Migration (IOM)’s Resident Representative Christa Rottensteiner the mechanism of cooperation between the Ministry and the organization in the health fields.

During the meeting, Dr. al-Mutwakkil stressed the need for coordination between the Ministry and the organization to facilitate its work and implement its health services in the provinces.

The Health Minister called on the organization to fulfill its duty to support the Ministry’s efforts to combat malaria, enhance health services in medical facilities, and provide medicines.

He pointed to the health situation Yemen is going through as a result of the continued aggression and the blockade, which requires expanding the areas of the organization’s support to the health sector.
