Childhood in southern provinces between horror and unknown future !!
SANAA, Feb. 6 (YPA) – The crimes of rape and kidnapping of children have dominated the social scene in the southern provinces subject to the Saudi-Emirati occupation.
The crimes against childhood widen, with the continued insecurity state in the city of Aden, and the rest of the occupied provinces, where human rights organizations recorded, during the current week, three rape crimes against children, in the districts of Tuban and al-Houta in Lahj province.
The honor crimes against children, aged 5-14 years, have become a source of concern for parents.
Specialists in the field of childhood, attributed the crimes of kidnapping and rape of children in the city of Aden and others, to the lawlessness and the spread of cannabis and drugs, in an attempt by the coalition countries to plunge the southern cities into drugs chaos, in order to stay as long as possible and exploit and drain the youth in their war on Yemen.
Where human rights organizations recorded 21 crimes, which varied between rape and kidnapping of children in the city of Aden
In 2019, human rights organizations recorded 21 crimes, which varied between rape and kidnapping of children, in the city of Aden, with an increase of 100% from 2018.
What helped to violate childhood in the southern provinces was that many of perpetrators of the rape crimes against children were not held accountable or stood trial, due to their affiliation with the militias of the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council, and the militants of the Islah Party.
Moreover, the transitional council’s militias refuse to investigate some cases of child rape, as in the case of Saleh Omar Salem Ahmed’s daughter, aged six, who was raped in Aden late in December 2019.
According to the human rights organizations’ statistics, more than eight crimes of rape were committed by elements of the UAE-backed militia during 2019.
Childhood situation in the southern provinces has become raising “horror”, for the time being, given its dire consequences in the future.
