5th Military Region discusses developments in Sweden agreement on Hodeidah

SANAA, Feb. 5 (YPA) – The Fifth Military Region discussed on Wednesday, in a meeting held in Sanaa and headed by Director of the Presidential Office Ahmed Hamed, the latest developments regarding the implementation of Stockholm Agreement on Hodeidah province.

At the meeting, Hamed stressed that the international community should assume its responsibility to alleviate the suffering of people of Hodeidah and to compel the other party to implement its obligations.

For his part, Major General Yousef al-Madani, commander of the fifth military region, affirmed that what Hodeidah witnesses daily is an aggression and a full-fledged war led by the forces of invasion and mercenaries against the people of Hodeidah.

Maj. Gen. al-Madani revealed more than 51,830 breaches of the Stockholm Agreement by Saudi-led coalition forces, which led to the killing of 1,062 citizens and wounding of 3,567 others.

In turn, Major General Ali Al-Mushki, head of the national team in the coordination committee for redeployment in Hodeidah, said: “We have fulfilled all of our obligations to implement Sweden Agreement, while the other side continues to stall and obstruct peace-building steps.”
