For first time in Aden, bread sold on black market

ADEN, Feb. 5 (YPA) – A strange phenomenon has recently spread in the neighborhoods and streets of the port city of Aden, southern Yemen, which is the selling of bread on the black market, similar to the sale of oil products.

According to media sources, the price of one bread piece (roti), whose weight does not exceed 40 grams, reached 30 riyals on the black market.

The sources explained that the reason for the spread of the sale of bread on the black market is the lack of diesel, after the closure of fuel stations in most areas of the city during the past week.

The city of Aden is witnessing a severe crisis in the sale of bread, amid the continued closure of bakeries in the city, which threatens a food disaster affecting people.
