Health ministry spokesman comments on UN medical airlifts

SANAA, Feb. 5 (YPA) – The Ministry of Health spokesman, Dr. Youssef Al-Hadhri on Teusady commented on the launching of the UN the Medical airlifts that carrying Yemeni patients to treatment abroad.

He said to Al Maisrah TV: “What the United Nations has done is complicating it more, especially with regard to equipping the plane that took off today because it is not intended for patients,” he explained.

Al-Hadhri added what we required are flights from 100 to 150 patients per day so that we can transport all patients abroad within a year.

The Director-General of Air Transport, Dr. Mazen Ghanem, had indicated that the United Nations had not established a plan to transport the remaining 32,000 registered patients.

In a continuation of the international disregard of patients, the United Nations informed the Air Transport Department in Sana’a of only 4 flights carrying 30 patients on a private plane, used to transport the UN envoy, not patients.

The Director General of Air Transport demanded that the United Nations to abide by its pledges to launch the humanitarian Medical Air Bridge to save the thousands of patients stranded in Sana’a due to the closure of Sana’a International Airport by the US-Saudi aggression.
