Hadi official accuses head of so-called “counter-terrorism” forces of carrying assassinations in Aden
ADEN, Jan. 30 (YPA) – A senior local official on Thursday revealed the party that was behind the assassination attempt in the southern Yemeni city of Aden.
According to coalition media sources, The Director of the Sira Directorate, Khaled Sido, accused Yusraan al-Maqtari, commander of the so-called “counter-terrorism” forces belonging to the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council of attempting to assassinate him.
The sources, citing Sido saying that a gunman wearing a mask for the “anti-terrorist” forces led by al-Mukari fired heavily at Sido’s car as he was travelling near his home in the Crater area, to escape.
One of the shots penetrated Sido’s feet, before his bodyguard responded to the gunmen, the sources said.
Yusraan al-Maqtari has been accused of carrying out assassinations, which have affected dozens of military and security figures and imams of mosques in Aden since the coalition took control of Aden city in 2015.
