SANAA, Jan. 29 (YPA) – A powerful earthquake of 5.5-magnitude has hit the Kamchatka region, a spokesman for the Geophysical Survey Service of the Russian Academy of Sciences, said on Wednesday.
“The seismic was recorded at noon local time on Wednesday, at a depth of 160 kilometers and 67 kilometers southeast of the village of Melkovo in Kamchatka region,” the spokesman added.
According to the Kamchatka district emergency directorate, residents of the area did not feel the tremors.
