Yemen threatened with food security due to desert locust swarms

SANAA, Jan. 27 (YPA) – The Desert Locust Control and Control Center announced on Monday that Yemen would be threatened with food security due to coming the new swarms of desert locusts from African countries.

The center affirmed that the spread of locusts in Yemen has sounded an alarm targeting agricultural crops and threatening food security sources, in light of urgent measures’s absence by the agriculture ministry to combat it.

It called on the international organizations to help and support Yemen’s efforts to combat the locusts, which portends a food catastrophe and great losses on the agricultural sector in Yemen.
