Death toll from coronavirus rises to 80 in China

SANAA, Jan. 27 (YPA) – Chinese authorities announced today, Monday, that the death toll from the deadly Corona virus has risen to 80.

The increase in fatalities came as Chinese officials said the number of those infected by the coronavirus have risen to 2,744.

The Hubei Provincial Committee confirmed in a statement that the number of victims of the virus rose to 76, and the number of infected people increased to 1,423 in the region.
Earlier on Sunday, the mayor of Wuhan, China, where pneumonia caused by the new coronavirus is circulating, announced that he expected about 1,000 more cases to be recorded, based on the number of hospital patients who had not yet undergone the virus testing.
The WHO described corona or coronaviruses as “a large group of viruses that cause disease, ranging from common cold to more severe diseases.”
