SANAA, Jan. 25 (YPA) – Deputy Prime Minister for Services and Development Dr. Hussein Maqbouli on Saturday stressed the necessity of updating the urban plan data for the capital Sanaa and provinces to line with the urban expansion in Yemen.
During a meeting held in Sanaa and attended by Mayor of the Capital’s Mayor Hamoud Obad and Head of the General Authority for Lands, Surveying and Urban Planning Judge Abdulaziz al-Ansi, Dr. Maqbouli urged the coordination and integration between the authority, the capital’s secretariat and the concerned agencies to implement the plans that absorb the population density in the capital.
Dr. Maqbouli stressed the need to carry out comprehensive studies for the development of the capital Sanaa (the Master Plan) in accordance with the international standards in force, and to complete urban plans for provinces according to scientific basics and a modern and developed planning vision.
He praised the efforts of the General Authority for Lands and its role in implementing urban plans for a number of provinces, including Hajjah and Saada.
In the meeting, Obad and al-Ansi reviewed what had been accomplished during the last period in the general scheme and the difficulties that faced the work and the mechanism of tackling them.
