Iraqi soldier wounded by hand grenade in Baghdad
SANAA, Jan. 23 (YPA) – An Iraqi soldier was wounded on Thursday by a hand grenade targeting a military detachment in Baghdad.
A statement by the Iraqi Security Media Cell said: “A group of protesters over Mohammad al-Qasim Express Bridge in Baghdad targeted a military detachment over the bridge with a hand grenade, whose explosion wounded one of the soldiers.”
An Iraqi security source announced last Monday that it recorded more than 100 cases of injuries and bottlenecks between the demonstrators and the security forces in the events of Muhammad al-Qasim Road in the center of the capital, Baghdad.
Some Iraqi cities and governorates are witnessing protest demonstrations calling for improving public services, providing water and electricity, eliminating unemployment and fighting corruption.
