Meteorology Center warns citizens of floods

SANAA, Jan. 22 (YPA) – The National Meteorology Center in Sanaa on Wednesday predicted light to medium rains that may be accompanied by thunderstorms in a number of provinces during the next 24 hours.

According to the Center’s bulletin, the northern highland areas would be affected by light rains, while the western highlands would be affected by moderate intensity rains that extend to parts of the southwestern highlands.

The center also expected scattered rains on the southern coasts, and a noticeable rise in the minimum temperatures in most areas of the country at a rate of 1 to 3 degrees Celsius.

The Center alerted the citizens in the aforementioned areas to be cautious, and not to be present in valleys and rainwater streams, especially in the western highlands.
