ADEN, Jan. 22 (YPA) – Nasser al-Khabji, head of the so-called “Southern Transitional Council” team in the Joint committee for monitoring the implementation of the Riyadh agreement, denied all accusations by the Hadi government against the UAE-backed council of obstructing the implementation of the Riyadh agreement.
“The council has carried out its withdrawals, the delivery of heavy weapons, the release of prisoners and the security of the government in Aden,” al-Khabji said during a meeting with UN envoy Martin Griffiths.
Al-Khabji complained to the UN envoy that the Hadi government was stalling in implementing its demands through a mutual withdrawal from Abyan and Shabwah provinces, and to continue agreeing on the appointment of the governor and director of Aden security, and the release of prisoner Mohammed Ahmed al-Faydi, who is still in government prisons.
