75 prisoners escape from prison in Paraguay
SANAA, Jan. 20 (YPA) – The Paraguayan government has announced that at least 75 prisoners, including members of the most dangerous Brazilian gang, escaped from a prison in the country through a tunnel dug underground.
According to Reuters, “The director of the prison of Pedro, near the border with Brazil, Juan Caballero and six other prison officials, was dismissed against the background of the accident,” Paraguay’s Minister of Justice, Cecilia Perez, said.
“Among those fleeing are members of the First Capital Command gang, which is the most dangerous organized crime gang operating in Brazil,” she noted.
“It was a process that took days and it is impossible for officials not to realize that the prisoners were leaking … It was clearly a paid plan,” she added.
