STC militisa drive Hadi forces out of “Yarams” area in Abyan

ABYAN, Jan. 12 (YPA) – On Saturday, the Saudi-led coalition-backed forces pulled out from the “Yarams” area in Abyan province, after armed clashes with the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) “security belt” militias”

Local sources in Abyan said that Hadi and Islah forces withdrew to the “Siylah” area in the Lauder district, after suffering heavy losses in the confrontation with the “STC” elements.

On Monday, the armed groups affiliated with al-Islah managed to take control of the “Yarams area, before losing it on Saturday with an attack by “transitional” militias.

It is worth mentioning that these clashes come just two days after the signing of a calming agreement and a mutual withdrawal of militants from both sides.
