Humanitarian Affairs Council’s Secretary-General meets ICRC Delegation Head

SANAA, Jan. 9 (YPA) – Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for Management and Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs and International Cooperation Abdalmohsen Tawoos on Thursday met with Head of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) delegation for Yemen, Franz Rauchenstein.

The meeting discussed the problems facing the work in the city of Hodeidah and how to overcome them, taking into account the existing situation in the province.

Tawoos called on the ICRC to do its humanitarian role and work in full awareness of the exceptional circumstances the province and Yemen are going through as a result of the aggression.

He confirmed the Council’s keenness to overcome the difficulties that might face the work of international organizations in the humanitarian field, especially the ICRC delegation.

In the meeting, Rauchenstein said that the ICRC is concerned with contributing to alleviating the humanitarian crisis and working in a coordination context with the concerned authorities to develop appropriate solutions to overcome problems and challenges.
