SANAA, Jan. 7 (YPA) – Prime Minister Dr. Abdulaziz bin Habtoor on Tuesday discussed with Foreign Minister Hisham Sharaf the latest developments at the regional arena.
The repercussions of the US assassination of Iranian Quds Force commander Qassem Soleiman and deputy head of Iraqi Popular Mobilization Force Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis were dealt with in the meeting.
The meeting also touched on aspects related to the so-called “Red Sea Summit and Gulf of Aden”, which Saudi Arabia called for, and the position of Yemen toward it.
In this regard, the Foreign Minister explained that memoranda would be sent to the European Union, Russia, China and the International Security Council on these suspicious moves.
Sharaf indicated that the Foreign Ministry communicates with a number of countries interested in the situation in Yemen, confirming that the Republic of Yemen is ready to contribute to any efforts that would make the Red Sea a lake of peace and a stabilizing factor for the region and the world.
At the meeting, Dr. bin Habtoor commended the diplomatic and political efforts undertaken by the Foreign Ministry, especially towards the central issues affecting the security, safety and sovereignty of Yemen.
He urged the Ministry to provide the leadership of the state and the government with any responses or interaction with Yemen’s vision regarding the safety and security of the Red Sea.
