53 people killed by floods in Indonesia
SANAA, Jan. 4 (YPA) – The National Disaster Management Agency of Indonesia announced that at least 53 people were killed and one person lost due to floods and landslides in the capital of Indonesia.
According to the agency, more than 173,000 people have been made homeless.
Heavy rains in Indonesia, which have led to floods in part of Jakarta, as well as neighboring cities, continue from December 31, 2019.
In a related context, the Indonesian Air Force sowed salt in the clouds, on Friday, in an attempt to prevent rain from reaching the capital, which is slowly sinking in the wake of Seoul and landslides caused by some of the heaviest rains that are recorded at all.
