Criminals have to expect harsh retaliation: Iran’s National Security Council

TEHRAN, Jan. 3 (YPA) – Iran’s Supreme National Security Council on Friday threatened criminals with a harsh retaliation at the right time and place, in reference to the killing of Quds Force’s Commander Qassem Soleimani by a US airstrike in Baghdad.

In a statement quoted by Iranian media, the Iranian Supreme National Security Council said, “We congratulate the martyrdom of the brave leader of the Quds Force of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard, the martyr Hajj Qassem Soleimani, the holder of the Order of Zulfikar and other leaders in the fight against terrorism, particularly Mujahid martyr Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis,”

“Congratulations to the fighters of the Islamic Resistance, their comrades, their families, and the entire Iranian nation,” the statement read.

The Council made clear that America should realize that it committed a major strategic mistake in the region by assassinating General Soleimani, and it would not easily escape this mistake.
