STC commander killed in Abyan

ABYAN, Dec. 31 (YPA) – A commander of the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) was killed on Tuesday in Yemen’s southern province of Abayn, sources said.

The commander Yasser al-Maqroumi was killed with his companion Akram al-Maqroumi in armed clashes with the Saudi-backed Islah Party militants in al-Mahfad district.

The commander al-Maqroumi carried out a number of attacks against the Islah militias in the province earlier, the sources added.
