Sanaa prohibits importing frozen meat from other than country of origin

SANAA, Dec. 31 (YPA) – Ministry of Industry and Trade on Tuesday issued a decision prohibiting the import of beef, lamb, goat, chicken, and their chilled and frozen products from other than the country of origin.

The decision stipulated that the import of these frozen and chilled meat and products to the Republic of Yemen should be limited to the country of origin in particular, and that the shipping process should take place directly from the country of origin to the Yemeni ports.

The decision stressed that the ports and customs departments throughout the country must abide by the implementation of the provisions of this decision a month after its issuance.

This decision comes within the framework of the efforts made by the government and the ministry to alleviate the burden on the consumer, importer, and the national economy as a result of importation from a country other than the country of origin.
