DHALEA, Dec. 27 (YPA) – A senior leader of the UAE-backed Southern Transitional council militias on Thursday survived an assassination attempt in Dhalea province, local sources said.
According to the sources, the commander of the so-called 2nd Battalion in the 5th Brigade loyal to Saudi-led coalition, Mohammed Hassan al-Madali has escaped an assassination attempt during his visit to his gunmen in the Hawamerah area, located between the district of Mawyah in Taiz province, and the Hasha district in in Dhalea province.
It is believed that Islah party militias launched the attack on Mohammed Hassan al-Madali, as he was passing through a tree-filled road between Mount Kashere and al-Ahmar Mountain, located near the al-Hasha area.
On Wednesday, sources reported that at least five member of the so-called Shabwani elite affiliated with the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council were injured in a traffic accident in Dhalea province, southern Yemen,
The sources explained that a military vehicle of the Shabwani elite capsized while in its way to Dhalea, which led to the injuring of five militiamen who were aboard.
