1,645 medical cadres take exams in Sanaa to get license in 2019

SANAA, Dec. 26 (YPA) – At least 1,645 applicants from various provinces on Thursday performed at the Faculty of Medicine at Sanaa University the fifth proficiency exams to obtain a license to practice the medical profession in 2019, organized by the Supreme Medical Council.

“The applicants for exams were divided into five specializations of Bachelor degree, namely laboratories, general medicine, pharmacy, dentistry nursing, and four specializations of diploma, namely pharmacy, laboratories, nursing, and medical assistant,” Dr. Mujahed Maasar, head of the council said.

Dr. Maasar pointed out that these exams aimed to reduce medical errors and correct the outputs of the governmental and private universities and colleges.

He stressed the importance of obtaining a certificate for practicing the profession and determining competence to find qualified staff to provide medical services to citizens, especially in light of the conditions the country is going through.
