Smuggling of international calls harms national economy: PM

SANAA, Dec. 26 (YPA) – Prime Minister Dr. Abdulaziz bin Habtoor on Wednesday called for doubling efforts to combat the phenomenon of smuggling international calls, which is a crime harming the national economy.

This came during a workshop held in Sanaa and organized by the International Telecommunication Company “TeleYemen” on the dangers of smuggling international calls and the role of the judicial and security authorities in reducing them.

The Prime Minister indicated that Keeping pace with national legislations and modernizing and developing the law in force to cover the gap in this aspect is imperative and a major national challenge.

Dr. bin Habtoor stressed that the phenomenon of smuggling calls has become a pivotal issue of concern to the state and society, which requires  mobilizing efforts and capabilities to confront and address it in accordance with the system and law.
