“Su-57” fighter plane crashes in eastern Russia
SANAA, Dec. 24 (YPA) – A Su-57 fifth-generation multirole fighter jet crashed in a forest area in Russia’s Far Eastern Khabarovsk Territory on Tuesday, according to news agency “RIA Novosti.
Komsomolsk-on-Amur city administration source said the accident occurred during a test drive for the engine, adding that the plane is not affiliated with the armed forces but rather for the Komsomolsk- on-Amur.
The official added that the pilot managed to skydive and was evacuated by helicopter, noting that no details were available about his condition.
The Su-57, also known as the “T-50”, fell about 120 km from Djemogwi Airport.
