Ministry of Industry calls on local authorities to interact with citizens’ complaints

SANAA, Dec. 19 (YPA) – Ministry of Industry and Trade on Thursday stressed that the local authorities should respond to and interact with citizens ’complaints related to price violations and others.

“The Ministry’s operations room receives complaints from citizens via the toll-free number 174, and reflects them directly to the ministry’s offices and local authorities in provinces to take action on them,” said Nageeb al-Athri, director of operations at the ministry.

Al-Athri added that the ministry had sent a circular to the local authorities and its offices in the capital Sanaa and provinces to quickly deal with these complaints and to inform the central operations room of what was taken about these violations on a real-time basis.

“The speedy handling of complaints, and taking measures against violators, enhances the citizen’s confidence in the state and encourages him to cooperate and continue to report any violations,” he said.
