4 hostages killed in Nigeria

SANAA, Dec. 14 (YPA) – An armed group that kidnapped a group of aid workers in northeastern Nigeria claimed to have killed four hostages, according to an international aid organization on Friday.

Action Against Hunger “condemns in the strongest terms the recent killings and deeply regrets that its calls for the release of the hostages have not been met”.

The group kidnapped aid workers near the town of Damasak in north-eastern Nigeria, where Islamist militants are active.

Nigerian police had earlier rescued more than 300 people, mostly children, who were handcuffed in a building in the northern city of Kaduna.

According to Reuters, the boys are between the ages of five and late are teenagers. Some were handcuffed together from their ankles, while others’ legs were tied in chains to large pieces of metal.
