STC rises combat readiness to confront Hadi’s forces in Abyan

ADEN, Dec. 13 (YPA) – The UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) on Friday deployed its militias along the coastal strip of Abyan province, southern Yemen.

The move came after ambushes carried out by the council’s militia against Hadi’s forces and Islah Party militants in al-Mahfed area, northeast of Abyan, during the past two days.

Media loyal to the STC reported that the council’s head Aidarous al-Zubaidi directed his militias leaders to rise the combat readiness along the coastal strip of Abyan linked to the coastal city of Shoqra, which has been taken by Hadi’s forces and Islah militants as a gathering site

The media added that this military escalation comes within the framework of the transitional council’s continuous mobilization to confront forces of Hadi and Islah party coming from Marib province, who vow to invade Zinjbar city, the capital of Abyan, after the council’s military control over it last August.
