Saudi-led coalition warplanes thwart Hadi’s forces plan to capture Emirati force in Shabwah

SHABWAH, Dec. 11 (YPA) – Saudi-led coalition aircraft failed an attempt carried by Hadi’s forces to capture an Emirati force in Shabwah, tribal sources said on Wednesday.

According to the tribal sources said that coalition aircraft dropped smoke bombs on Hadi’s al-Alam checkpoint and forced it to flee.

The point members affiliated with the “Islah” managed at dawn to besiege an Emirati military convoy of 7 armored vehicles and an arms carrier that was on its way from Balhaf to the Shabwah Elite Camp in the city of Habban.

The sources said that the members of the Emirati force, including officers, refused to surrender, which led to the intervention of the warplanes.

The UAE has been working since last August to regroup its followers in the Shabwah Elite forces, in preparation to redeploy over oil regions within a joint force supervised by Saudi Arabia.
