UN report confirms UAE, Jordan violating arms embargo: The Guardian

LONDON, Dec. 10 (YPA) – The British Guardian newspaper has confirmed that the United Nations member states systematically violate the arms embargo imposed on Libya.

The newspaper quoted a report of the UN Panel of Experts on Libya that the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Jordan are among the most prominent countries that violated this ban.

The Guardian said the United Nations faces charges of overseeing what it has called a new era of impunity, and that the findings of the report are a test of the organization’s ability to implement its decisions.

The UAE, Jordan and Egypt have armed General Haftar’s forces, which started an attack on Tripoli on the fourth of last April, days before the United Nations launched the Inclusive National Conference, while Turkey provided the reconciliation government with some military equipment according to a support agreement between Tripoli and Ankara, the newspaper elaborated.
