STC warns against any attempts of Muslim Brotherhood militias to thwart Riyadh agreement

ADEN, Dec. 7 (YPA) – The UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) on Friday expressed its right to defend itself and to counter the ongoing mobilisations of Hadi’s government towards the occupied southern provinces, calling for an immediate withdrawal.

The STC’s spokesman, Nizar Haitham said in a statement that the STC affirms its adherence to its right to defend its territory, its ability to counter and deter any force that tries to cross the current lines of contact, and calls on these forces to withdraw immediately.

Nizar stressed that the Council supports peace and blesses Saudi efforts to overcome the current problem and they are ready by force to deter all the bullying and reckless moves.

The statement warned against any attempts by the Muslim Brotherhood militias to thwart the Riyadh agreement.

For nearly five years, Yemen’s southern provinces have been in a bloody conflict between the factions loyal to Saudi-led aggression coalition against Yemen, which with aims  to control over government interests, ports and wealth.
