ASIR, Nov. 29 (YPA) – Yemen’s air defenses on Friday shot down an Apache belonging to Saudi-led coalition in Asir region, the military spokesman Brigadier General Yahya Sare’e said.
Brigadier General Yahya Sare’e confirmed in a brief statement that “Yemeni air defenses were able to shoot down a Saudi Apache aircraft with a new surface-to-air missile.”
He added that “the operation is documented by the Military Media of the Yemeni army Unit.”
He explained that the helicopter was shot down this morning in Majazah area off Asir province while carrying out hostilities.
Both the aircraft and its crew were burned, he added.
“Approaching the airspace of Yemen is prohibited and will not be a place for a picnic for anyone and that it will address all attempts by enemies until it reaches full protection of Yemeni airspace,” he concluded.
