Al-Mortada confirms arrival of 128 prisoners released by Saudi authorities
SANAA, Nov. 28 (YPA) – Head of the National Committee for Prisoners Affairs Abdulqader al-Mortada on Thursday confirmed the arrival of 128 prisoners from the army and popular committees, released by Saudi authorities.
“We received today from the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) 128 prisoners and detainees released by the Saudi authorities in the first response to the initiatives we have implemented in the prisoners’ file,” al-Mortada said in his Twitter account.
He added: “It is a good step, and we hope that it will be followed by other steps, and that the prisoner exchange agreement will be fully implemented.”
Earlier in the day, 128 prisoners of the army and popular committees arrived at Sanaa Airport on ICRC plane, after being released from the prisons of Saudi Arabia, which is leading an aggressive war against Yemen in the framework of an Arab coalition.
