SANAA, April 24 (YPA) – The UN Secretary-General’s Special Envoy to Yemen, Martin Griffith, on Tuesday expressed condolences of the UN Secretary-General on the death of President Saleh Al-Sammad.
In a telephone conversation with Deputy Foreign Minister Hussein al-Ezzi, the UN envoy voiced his regret for the assassination, which he said is denounced and a violation of international laws.
The deputy foreign minister stressed that the United Nations should play its role in curbing the aggression, which violated the international law and the values of peace by targeting of the martyred President Al-Sammad.
Al-Ezzi noted that the aggression coalition’s recent violations by targeting of weddings and civilian installations without paying attention to the United Nations and its charters suggests an inhuman complicity with these crimes.
He also underlined the right of the Yemeni people to defend their dignity and fair issue by all legitimate defense means.
