November 30 is exceptional event in Yemen’s history: PM

SANAA, Nov. 23 (YPA) – Prime Minister Dr. Abdulaziz bin Habtoor on Saturday said the Independence Day, November 30, 1967, is an exceptional event in Yemen’s history, which reinforced the idea of the state and paved way for the Yemeni unity project completion.

“Yemen’s long history should be respected and seen with reverence by everyone,” said Dr. bin Habtoor, during his participation in the inauguration of the implementation of first phase plan of the National vision for building the modern Yemeni state at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, in conjunction with the 52nd Independence Day anniversary celebration.

The Premier considered that what the country is currently going through is a crucial stage in the history of the Yemeni people due to the aggression and siege have been going on for nearly five years.

Dr. bin Habtoor affirmed that “the homeland is confronting and resisting Saudi-Emirati aggression, not an internal war as claimed by those who support and side with the aggression.”

He noted that the celebrations of Independence Day in Sanaa have symbolic significance and national and spatial dimensions.

During the expanded consultative meeting of the Higher Education Ministry and universities 2019, the Prime Minister considered explaining the national vision to understand it is important and that the most important is to follow and evaluate the process of its implementation in practice.

He indicated that the increased central intervention weakens work within educational institutions or others, criticizing some universities’ neglect of their websites for years.

The Prime Minister directed the Ministry of Higher Education to activate the regulation on scientific research and to oblige universities to copy their researches to the ministry’s competent sector.

He urged researchers to pay great attention to the major problems that emerged during the period of aggression and siege, study them in-depth and propose appropriate solutions to them.
