Finance Minister stresses Transport Ministry’s role in advancing national economy

SANAA, Nov. 18 (YPA) – Minister of Finance Sharafuddin Ali al-Kohlani on Monday stressed on the important role of Ministry of Transport in pushing forward the wheel of national economy and contributing to the improvement of revenues.

This came during a meeting included al-Kohlani and Minister of Transport Zakariya al-Shami, in which they discussed conditions of the General Authority for Regulating Land Transport Affairs and the difficulties facing it.

The Finance Minister noted to directives of President of the Supreme Political Council to activate and enable the bodies that serve the community and have an economic nature in order to do their part in serving the overall development process.

For his part, the Transport Minister said that the General Authority for Regulating Land Transport Affairs contributes to supporting the state treasury despite the aggression and siege.

Al-Shami confirmed the ministry’s keenness on combating corruption in all its forms.

He stressed the need to address the overlaps in the Authority’s work to enable it to carry out its tasks to promote and improve the land transport.
