Deputy FM, Head of ICRC delegation discuss humanitarian situation in Yemen

SANAA, Nov. 16 (YPA) – Deputy Foreign Minister Hussein al-Ezzi on Saturday met with Head of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) delegation in Sanaa, Alexander Ikoyi.

The meeting dealt with the cooperation area, as well as the latest developments in the deteriorating humanitarian situation in Yemen, especially the spread of dengue and malaria epidemics in some districts of Hodeidah province.

Al-Ezzi expressed his hope that humanitarian organizations would play their part in contributing to the response and control of these epidemics resulting from the siege and aggression.

He praised the ICRC’s humanitarian efforts in the implementation of the prisoner exchange agreement that resulted from Stockholm consultations.

In the meeting, ICRC’s official commended the concerned authorities’ cooperation with the ICRC delegation, confirming the Committee’s readiness to provide all possible support to Yemen to alleviate the human suffering of the Yemeni people.
