FM stresses on coordination between WFP, government agencies

SANAA, Nov. 12 (YPA) – Foreign Minister Hisham Sharaf on Tuesday called on the World Food Program (WFP) to coordinate with the relevant government agencies and commit to the principle of transparency and priority of delivery of fit humanitarian assistance to the targeted.

During his meeting with the WFP delegation headed by the Program’s Regional Director Muhannad Hadi, Sharaf confirmed the readiness of the competent national authorities to cooperate with the program to achieve an effective partnership to serve citizens.

For his part, Muhannad Hadi affirmed the keenness and commitment of WFP to work seriously to contribute to alleviating the suffering of Yemenis in coordination and cooperation with the national authorities.

The meeting discussed activities of WFP office in the non-occupied areas in light of the humanitarian challenges faced by the Yemeni citizens as a result of the continued aggression and economic war waged by Saudi-led coalition and its tools.
