Preparatory committee formed to establish Coffee Producers & Exporters Association

SANAA, Nov. 11 (YPA) – A meeting held Sunday in Sanaa, chaired by Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Irrigation Majid al-Mutwakil, approved the formation of a preparatory committee to prepare and arrange for the establishment of the Coffee Producers and Exporters Association.

At the meeting, al- Mutwakil stressed the importance of establishing the association to enhance coordination between producers and exporters in order to achieve the desired goals and contribute to supporting farmers and encourage them to expand the cultivation of coffee crop and improve its quality.

For his part, Director of Coffee at the Ministry of Agriculture Mohammed Harith said that the establishment of the association is one of the objectives adopted by the national strategy for the development of coffee crop in order to strengthen the principle of partnership between the actors working in the field of coffee.
