Health Minister stresses on enhancing cooperation with UNICEF

SANAA, Nov. 7 (YPA) – Health Minister Taha al-Mutawakel on Thursday stressed on the importance of strengthening cooperation and partnership between the ministry and UNICEF organization.

The move came during his meeting with the UNICEF’s Regional Director for the Middle East and North Africa Ted Chaiban.

The minister called on the UNICEF to help Yemen in providing medical equipment and supplies to combat epidemics and diseases that target the Yemeni people.

Al-Mutawakel touched on aspects related to the UNICEF’s support for immunization and vaccination programs against infectious diseases.

The minister urged the organization to expand its activities to cover the urgent needs in the field of motherhood, childhood and primary health care.
