SANAA, April 23 (YPA) – Saleh Ali Al-Sammad, former president of Yemeni Supreme Political Council, was assassinated on Thursday, April 19, 2018, by Saudi-led coalition’s airstrikes in the western port city of Hodaida.
Al-Sammad was born in 1979 in Bani Muath area of Sahaar district, Saada province.
He graduated from Sanaa University and worked as a teacher at Abdullah Ibn Masaud School in Saada.
He joined the Yemeni revolution since its beginning and during the third round of war between the revolutionists and forces loyal to former president Ali Abdullah Saleh backed by US.
He became President of Ansarullah Political Council in 2011.
After the revolution of September 21, 2014, he got a decree to be adviser of president.

On August 6, 2016, he became President of the Supreme Political Council and sworn on 14 August.
Mass supporters took to the streets to congratulate him for taking into office.
On August 15, 2016, the Supreme Revolutionary Committee handed him power to the Supreme Political Council.
On Monday, April 23, 2018, the Supreme Political Council announced he was martyred.
