SANAA, Nov. 3 (YPA) – Yemeni researcher Dr. Eqbal Mohammed Abdu Dauqan has been awarded the 2019 Cultural Bridge Builder Award from the University of Agder-Kristiansand in Norway for her unique skills in communicating and building bridges between her culture and those of others.
According to the University criteria, Dr. Eqbal has been chosen as she takes the opportunity to establish intercultural links, thereby increasing mutual understanding and tolerance.
Dr. Eqbal is an associate professor of biochemistry and nutrition sciences at the University of Agder, Norway. She holds a PhD in Biochemistry in 2012 from Malaysia and received the Elsevier Foundation Prize in Chemistry in 2014 as representative of the Arab Region.
She has more than 43 scientific publications distributed among researches in scientific journals, books and publications at international conferences.
It is worth mentioning that the Yemeni community in Norway has a constellation of qualified cadres of scientists and doctors attracted by Norway to benefit from them, after their displacement from Yemen due to the war.
