MARIB, Oct. 30 (YPA) – Defence minster in the coalition-backed government survived a shelling targeted a meeting at Joint Operations Headquarters in Marib province, local sources reported.
The sources confirmed that the shelling targeted a meeting attended by Defence Minister Mohammed al-Maqdashi, and said the blast left dead and wounded, including senior officers in the Hadi’s defence ministry.
Hadi’s government accused the UAE of being behind the attack that targeted military leaders in Marib province.
Yahya Abu Hatem, an adviser to the Minister of Defense of the government of “Hadi” said that an Emirati drone targeted a military leaders’meeting headed by Mohammed Ali al-Maqdashi at Joint Operations Headquarters.
Abu Hatem linked the attack with the intensified campaign by UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council’s supporters against al-Maqdisi during the past days.
Media reports reported that the driver of al-Maqdashi and two of his bodyguards were killed in the attack which targets a building in Marib recently established by coalition forces, as the headquarters of the so-called joint operations led by Saghir Bin Aziz from the west coast.
